It is expected that upwards of 1500 people will attend this event at Shaw Conference Centre, held on Mothers Day.
With Mothers Day in mind we decided to offer a service for the Mothers. We will be handing out limited amounts of handmade floral broaches and chocolate candy stem roses.
House of Refuge is a Mission that does The Lords work through volunteers, with this in mind, we will be praying one one with those needing this personal service in Jesus name.
1) This is our first involvement at Homeless Connect
2) House of Refuge Mission handing out Mother's Day give-aways consisting handmade floral broaches and limited amount of chocolate candy stem roses along with general information sheet.
3) We at House of Refuge Mission rely greatly on volunteer help to make an event like this possible as we operate by donations and generous gifts. If you are able to help with this event please contact Sharol Penner
4) Through Homeless Connect, we were put in touch with Sawridge Hotel(Edmonton) for a most generous gift of pillows to hand out at House of Refuge Mission. ( not provided at the event but through us at the Mission ).
5) Prayer one on one.
Other services that will be offered at this event will include (but not limited to);
A ) Free meal and beverage
B ) Free work boots
C ) Immunization
D ) Back packs with essentials like socks, hygenic items etc.
